the best veterinary practice ever!
This is the best vet. Dr Pelura is the most honest vet i have ever dealt with. He only does whats nessicary for your animal. Most vets are all about the money and will do anything to get another few hundred out of you. Not this man. He really cares about his 4 legged patients. I take my dogs and rabbit to him and he will be our trusted vet for life.
Amazing, kind, straightforward vet. Helped us through every stage of our dogs lives. Just generally a great, salt of the earth professional. And a nice little office and location!
Dr. Pelura has been my family vet for over 20 years. When I was a young boy and got my first dog and best friend, Pelura took care of him as his own. He's super down to Earth, his staff is friendly, and the care he provides comes at a very reasonable price. After caring for my first pup for all 16 years of his life, Dr. Pelura made it easy for me to lay him to rest. Now that I've got another family dog, there's nobody else I'd trust!
If I could give Dr. Palora zero stars I would. He is a very aggressive arrogant mean person. He gave me a price to neuter a pig I gladly raised the money for this rescue pig. I asked him if he could trim his tusks if he needed it or trim his hooves if he needed it and give him his vaccine, I asked then and there for an estimate for the extra work , he was present for that conversation his receptionist said she couldn't give me one right now but she would call me with an estimate . Dr Palora's receptionist called me back and told me the pig was finished being neutered and I could pick him up after a nights stay. The receptionist nor doctor ever called me to give me a price on the extra work. I was shocked that they had proceeded with the extra work, and not called me to give me an estimate . They trimed his tusks and gave him his vaccine without discussing how much the extra cost would be for the tusks and vaccine. When I spoke there with the receptionist she wouldn't even tell me how much I owed. She just told me everything was fine and to come in the next morning to pick up the pig. I came in the next morning to get the pig , I get my bill , The doctor had charged me an extra $320. I was shocked by the cost because I had called around to find out how much a vet charges to trim tusks and all the estimates I got from other people was $20-$50 I was extremely shocked that he charge me $239 to trim the pigs tusks while he was under sedation for a neuter. I asked Dr. Palora why it cost so much and if there was anyway we could bring down the cost at all, then he proceeded to scream at me and tell me he was a professional and his price was his price and that's just the way it is . He also told me that if I didn't like it I could go somewhere else . I told him I really wasn't given the option to go anywhere else considering he already did the work without approving a price with me first. He made me feel cornered he yelled at me and he made me cry and he told me that I had to pay right then and there and I felt very threatened . I hope that you read this so you can avoid a similar or worse scenario with this terrible doctor.
